No. Speech recognition runs on your Mac. Liltio processes speech locally and does not keep recordings in history. Some engines use temporary audio files that are removed after processing.

Yes. After initial online activation and downloading your local models, a paid Local license supports ongoing offline local dictation. Remote AI, account services, and any online features of the app you dictate into still need a connection.

Liltio works with supported editable fields. It captures and rechecks the original target before insertion. If the target is secure, changed, or unsupported, Liltio offers an explicit Copy fallback instead of guessing.

Liltio requires an Apple-silicon Mac running macOS 15.5 or later. Intel Macs are not supported.

You choose Ephemeral, Local learning, or History mode. Ephemeral avoids full-transcript persistence; History stores results only on this Mac for the retention period you select.

The recommended Balanced speech setup is approximately 1.05 GB. Accuracy mode is approximately 1.93 GB. The optional Liltio AI model is a separate download of approximately 3.35 GB.

Liltio offers automatic language detection plus 32 selectable speech locales. Engine availability and transcription quality vary by language, accent, hardware, and code-switching pattern.

Application source code made available under Apache-2.0 remains governed by that license. Downloaded speech and language models keep their publishers’ separate licenses. A Local purchase covers the distributed Mac application and its license services; it does not change third-party model licenses.

Yes. You can dictate with generative AI turned off. Optional cleanup can run with Liltio AI on this Mac, an LM Studio server you control, or an explicitly configured compatible endpoint. Remote AI sends your prompts, text, and relevant context to that provider and needs an internet connection.

No. Local speech recognition is separate from online services. Downloads and activation need a connection; purchases, account access and support process the information needed to provide those services. The website uses daily aggregate statistics, and referral tracking loads only with your permission. Optional remote AI sends your prompts, text, and relevant context to the provider you configure. Download Liltio, move it to Applications and open it. Start your trial or activate your license, download a speech model, and grant the requested microphone, Accessibility and shortcut permissions. Select a supported editable text field, hold your configured dictation shortcut, speak, then release to insert the text. Review names, dates, numbers, and meaning before sending or using your draft. If insertion is not supported, use the Copy fallback.
